"...a date which will live in infamy"

Today marks the 70th anniversary of the surprise attack at Pearl Harbor which took so many lives and inspired so many to take up arms and serve to protect the United States at home and abroad. It was the attack that filled the United States with resolve and the only catalyst we needed to enter World War II.

We talked about it today for a pretty good length of time. The students were curious and had many great questions. I encourage you to keep the conversation going at home if it comes up. We ran out of time here and there were still plenty of hands raised with stories to be told and inquiries to be made. We even got into a conversation about our ancestors, which countries they came from, and which side of the war they were on in World War II. Could be a good lead-in to talking about family history if you're looking for one.

Thank you to those of you who are serving or have served.
