We're making some good progress on our books ~ the kids have been working hard on brainstorming ideas, helping one another out through the writer's block and they are now creating typed copies of their rough drafts.
Later this week students will be getting into editing groups and reading through each others papers. They will be looking for places that can benefit from the addition of figurative language, looking for punctuation and other grammatical errors and making thoughtful, positive suggestions on how to improve the writing. Each student will get their writing back after it has been read by a few classmates and will be able to work with these suggestions to produce their final copy.
