Mapping with a Purpose

This week and next, students are wrapping up their mapping unit in social studies by creating maps of their own. Each map has to serve a purpose and include many of the features of maps that we have been learning about and discussing over the past few weeks.

The students access to their rubric through their Google accounts, so if you would like to see it, feel free to have your student use their @pewaukeeschools.org Google account to login from home and show you.

Some maps are serving a purpose, but for a fictional world. In the picture above, you can start to see Camp Half Blood from the Rick Riordan's famous Percy Jackson books.

Other maps will cover just a specific state, such as Wisconsin or Maryland (Yep, Good Times), while others are going to tackle Europe or Australia.

And sometimes it's just fun to sit at the teachers desk and play teacher for a bit.
