We took a moment (actually, quite a few moments) out of our day on Monday to talk about December 7th, 1941. The student's knew a lot more than they let on, but I think they learned a few things as well. We talked about how this event was the worst military attack by a foreign power to ever happen on US soil. We talked about the USS Arizona, the United States response, and a little bit of how and why it happened. We also watched snippets of President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressing congress the day after. This is where the words "a date which will live in infamy" were immortalized.
