Food Drive!
Horizon Student Council is sponsoring a food drive to help those out in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. If you are able to donate, please send in a non-perishable food item or items with your student. Community service always feels good. :)
Social Studies
Students received there social studies study guide for Mesopotamia today. It is not due until Wednesday in class and students will have their test on Friday.
Spelling
We will have our pretest tomorrow, followed by our test on Friday.
Writing
To help increase our word choice scores we are working on descriptive writing. Students have already practiced by writing a description of a room in their house. We read several aloud today in class and they were able to see how words can create a visual representation.
Due on Wednesday is a description, at least four paragraphs long, about a fictional encounter with FRIENDLY aliens on a moon of Jupiter that they had while working for NASA. We are working on our "happy" word choice this time.
