The 6th grade team applied for a set of iPod Touches that the district owns at the beginning of the semester asking them for use in our language arts curriculum. Our application was accepted, and for the next couple of weeks, our class is going mobile.
The kids have been tasked with finding a free, educational app that they would like the district to put on every iPod. They are going to be creating a list of pro's and con's, keeping their notes in Evernote so they can access them from anywhere, and then writing a short persuasive letter about their app.
Most of the minions have already narrowed down their choice of app. Some have gone with reading apps, others have chosen math apps. Some minions are going with apps that are designed to help you study in multiple subjects, and some have even chosen apps that are designed for 1st and 2nd graders because they feel that iPods would be more beneficial at the younger ages.
We're off to a good start!
