1) We're going on a field trip to the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center on Friday, February 10 to see a dance performance by Ailey II. The performance will expose the kids to some African-American culture and also be a nice chance for them to see a performance in a professional setting. It's a short field trip - we will leave at 9:30 and be back around 11:15. The permission forms and money ($6.00) should be returned to Mr. Finn by Friday, February 3. A digital copy can be found on our fusion site.
2) Class pictures were sent home today with each student. I would put a copy online for you all to see, but to protect the student's identities, we are not allowed to post their names and pictures in the same post. So, look for them in the abyss that is known as the 6th grade backpack.
3) Today was the first day of the third quarter. We will be having parent-teacher conferences this quarter to check in and make sure that we finish the year strong. Students have advanced into Tech Ed. during allieds, which means that they have officially started taking classes inside the middle school (if they weren't already taking band or choir).
4) MAP Testing is this week Tuesday, and next week Tuesday. We're doing a quick check on reading and math. It is just one test, one snapshot in time, but we do ask that you keep your child as rested as possible.
