Chinese Writing and Illustrating our Books

We were very lucky to have a hard working group of kids in TAG, under the coordination of Mrs. Geldnich, come in and give us a lesson on China. Another 6th grade student was recently in China and she took lots of photos that they were kind enough to share with the kids. Afterwards, that same student taught the kids how to write and speak in Chinese (a language in which she is fluent in). The TAG kids worked to make sure that each student was able to write a word in Chinese that described themselves (like happy, artistic, creative, fast, etc.). The kids had a blast doing it.

We also had our "Future Illustrators of America/Reward Party/Music Party" yesterday. After working so hard to complete all their stories needed for their book, I decided to let the kids sort of chill out and work on their illustrations as a reward. It was productive and fun - so a win-win. We will be continuing to work on those illustrations in the next week or so, but not in a party format.

Forms for ordering books beyond the one free copy that you will receive will go out tomorrow. Even if you do not plan on ordering a book beyond the free one, we still need you to fill out the bottom portion of the form. This is our consent from you to publish your child's work.

Have a great Thursday everyone!
